Vantage acquired Next Generation Data (NGD) in 2020. The facility first opened in 2010 at the former LG Semicon plant at Newport.
One of the largest data centre in Europe, the site has its own private connection to the UK SuperGrid, with up to 180 megawatts of power (sufficient to power a city the size of Bristol) generated from 100% renewable sources.
Located in an industrial park in the town of Marshfield, near to the Welsh capital Cardiff. The facility is powered by renewable energy from Wales’ Dinorwig Dam, Britain’s largest hydroelectric power plant.
Power:
The NGD Data Centre has its own dedicated sub-station with direct connection to the 400kV Super Grid, effectively by-passing the electricity distribution network.
All NGD’s power comes from renewable sources, meaning that you can benefit from cheaper, cleaner and more reliable power. Being Tier 3+, we have comprehensive UPS, backup generation and fully redundant power distribution from the Super Grid to each Data Hall.
