Another data center is coming to Sterling, Northern Virginia, as county officials have approved a rezoning request in the area. Long Drive Land Company LLC sought to rezone up to 39.82 acres of land in Loudoun County to develop a data center with up to 63,675 square meters (685,404 square feet) of space. The site in question is not yet developed, and it is located next to the 1757 Golf Club. The facility will be called the Dulles 28 Technology Park.

There was a slight obstacle in the zoning request as the county staff recommended that the commission shouldn’t approve the request. This is because they felt the data center proposal is in direct conflict with the Loudoun Country’s 2019 General Plan land use recommendation. However, the board later approved the rezoning application by a 6-3 vote.
