Frankfurt: Alibaba Opens Data Center in Frankfurt, Germany

Alibaba has announced that it opened a data center in Frankfurt, Germany. The new data center is the company’s third facility in the country. According to the company, the new data center will help support the increasing needs for digital transformation from customers across the European continent. Alibaba did not reveal the specifications of the data center. 

The facility features free cooling operation through the use of dry coolers. It uses natural cooling ambient air as opposed to mechanical refrigeration. According to the company, the data center was built according to Germany’s security standards. This year, Alibaba has made significant announcements as it also recently opened a data center in Bangkok, Thailand.
