Amazon AWS: Amazon Web Services Launches UAE Cloud Region

Amazon Web Services has announced the launch of its new cloud region in the United Arab Emirates. The company said the cloud region’s official name is Middle East (UAE). It also noted that the API name is me-central-1. According to AWS, the zone is ready for use to store data and deploy workloads. AWS first announced the site in 2021, and it was due to come online in H1 2022. In accordance with existing regions, the UAE region launches with three availability zones. AWS didn’t reveal where it located the data centers for the new region.

This is AWS’ second region in the Middle East. This comes after it opened its region in Bahrain in 2019. Amazon also has plans for a new region in Israel. The launch now sees AWS operate 87 Availability Zones across 27 geographic Regions globally. In addition, it has plans for 21 more availability zones.
