CyrusOne has announced that it has received approval of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction target by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reaffirming its commitment to the target of reducing absolute Scope 1 (fuels) and Scope 2 (electricity) GHG emissions by 38% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to measure and reduce its Scope 3 (supply chain) emissions.

Kyle Myers, vice president of EHS&S at CyrusOne, commented: “This is the next progression in our mission to reduce our company’s impact on the environment. This target will launch us into the next phase of increasing renewable electricity, cutting our greenhouse gases, and shrinking our customers’ carbon footprint.”

Meanwhile, David Ferdman, President & Chief Executive Officer of CyrusOne, added: “I’m proud of the work our team has done to develop a plan to meet this ambitious goal. Confirmation from the Science Based Targets Initiative is an exciting milestone and recognition that our team’s efforts to decarbonize are rising to the occasion for this important challenge.”
