DataBank: DataBank To Develop a 40MW Data Center at Newly Acquired Property

DataBank has announced the acquisition of an existing data center and 18-acre land in Atlanta, Georgia. The property acquired is located at 200 Selig Drive, Atlanta. Although the company did not reveal the transaction terms, CoStar reports that DataBank paid $10.9 million for the property. The data center company noted that it would be developing a new data center at the site. The data center (ATL4) will span 18,580 square meters (200,000 square feet) while supporting 40MW of critical IT load. There will also be room for expansion at the facility. DataBank will call the new site the Lithia Springs Campus.

According to the company, the site will help expand its footprint and capacity immensely to serve the needs of its customers in Atlanta. The CEO of DataBank, K. Martynek, said the company had always envisaged Atlanta to become a top data center market. He noted that DataBank is proud to be a core part of its continued tech and business community development.
