Datum Datacentres has completed the development of a 1MW data hall at its Farnborough data center. The development project at Datum's FRN1 has been concluded as part of a $9 million investment program.

The new data hall on the first floor, Hall 4, has space for 380 racks, a cooling framework for 1000kW of IT load with N+1 redundancy and electrical infrastructure for 1000kW of IT load with 2N redundancy. The halls are equipped with Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)-fueled standby generators and lithium-ion batteries in the UPS system. Keysource was responsible for the design and construction.

Datum, established in 2012, administers the FRN1 facility in the QinetiQ Cody Technology Park in Farnborough, a suburb of London. The 40,000-square-foot building was constructed by KeySource in 2012. In September 2021, funds managed by UBS Asset Management's Real Estate & Private Markets business (REPM) purchased the company, and in September 2022, the company acquired Manchester-based Teledata.

Datum Group also intends to construct new data center facilities at its Farnborough and Manchester locations within the next 12 months. FRN2 will accommodate 600 shelves on the ground floor, possibly doubling this capacity on the first floor.
