: EdgeConneX Now Powering All of Its Data Centers With 100% Renewable Energy

EdgeConneX has shared that it is now powering all of its global data centers with 100% renewable energy. The company noted that it has achieved 100% carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions as a result, with a significant 44% reduction in Scope 3 emissions.

The company was reportedly able to reach this goal with the assistance of AI. AI not only assisted the company in assessing workloads with different compute requirements and balancing power use over time, but it also allowed it to ensure maximum utilization of renewable energy sources. 

This achievement was shared in its recently released sustainability report, where it also highlighted that it had achieved 1.27 Operational Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). Further, it noted it had structured multiple innovative sustainability financings around achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of its data centers, renewable electricity, and achieving safety goals.
