Equinix: Equinix Is Acquiring Four Data Centers In Chile and Peru From Entel For $705 million

Equinix has acquired four data centers belonging to Entel in Peru and Chile for $705 million. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of the year. Per the deal, Equinix will take over one data center in Lima, Peru, and three facilities in Santiago, Chile. Under the terms of the deal, both companies will form a strategic partnership to enable enterprises in Peru and Chile to take advantage of hybrid multi-cloud solutions to speed up their digital transformation.

The President and CEO of Equinix, Charles Meyer, said Latin America has great potential and the company’s commitment to the region is ever-growing. He added Peruvian and Chilean companies have been demanding world-class digital infrastructure, and Equinix is ready to meet their demands. According to Equinix, the four data centers it is acquiring generate up to $53 million in revenue annually. It also has up to 120 employees and contractors under its belt.
