Facebook: Meta continues its expansion in Eagle Mountain, Utah

Social media giant Meta has announced that it is expanding its footprint in Eagle Mountain, Utah, with the expansion of its data center campus. The company made this announcement of the new additions on Facebook, where it said the campus grow by 2 million square feet.

According to the company, this addition follows its first expansion (500,000 sq ft (46,000 sqm)) in 2019 and a second in July 2021, with 900,000 sq ft added, and will bring the giant’s total capital investment in the Eagle Mountain project to $1.5 billion.

“Meta’s decision to expand the Eagle Mountain Data Center shows its commitment to this community. Eagle Mountain has experienced an enormous benefit in so many areas resulting from Meta’s presence in our community. We are confident that this expansion will help lead to more positive outcomes for Eagle Mountain and Utah County,” said Tom Westmoreland, Mayor of Eagle Mountain.
