According to BizJournal, Microsoft has plans to develop a new data center in Loudoun County, Virginia. The publication cited the Loudoun County records for its information. Microsoft’s plan is to develop a $400 million facility on a 67-acre land it owns in the Arcola Business Park. The IAD11 data center will span 46,450 square meters (500,000 square feet). It will also create 80 jobs. This was confirmed by Buddy Rizer, the executive director of the Loudoun Economic Development Department.

According to Buddy Rizer, the project is going on without any hassles. He also added that an amendment for the already-approved site plan is still under review. Microsoft acquired the vacant land in August 2020 for over $93 million. Microsoft already has a rich data center presence in Loudoun county with developments in Sterling, Leesburg, and Ashburn.
